Engineer Manager 5 – Underground Transmission

Job Description

Duties: Provide engineering services and management solutions for utility scale engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) high voltage (HV) underground transmission line projects. Perform complex research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.  Support the Project Manager in execution of project scope, schedule, and budget. Support the Project Manager in proposal development. Provide mentorship and guidance to peers and entry-level engineers with moderately complex projects. Review lower-level engineering work or assignments. Oversee development of plan and profile drawings, duct bank cross sections, manhole drawings, riser structure drawings, trenchless drawings as applicable. Oversee development of complex engineering calculations/studies including cable ampacity calculations, cable pulling calculations, and impedance calculations. Develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection. Review shop drawings, vendor quotes and perform bid evaluations. Plan and conduct quality checks on all project deliverables. Manage and adhere to budget, schedule, and quality requirements.  Actively manages project changes directly with the Client and in coordination with the Project Manager. Lead medium to large design teams consisting of engineers, designers, and technicians.  Assist with identification of key client interests and drivers.  Supervise Project Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Civil/Structural Engineers, and Technicians.  No hire / fire authority.
