Job Description
Purpose: The Summer School Aide is responsible for supporting teachers and students in the summer school program. This position assists in classroom activities, supervises students, and helps maintain a positive and productive learning environment. The aide will work closely with teachers and school staff to ensure smooth daily operations and student success.
Reports to: Summer School Director
Physical Requirements
? Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
? Ability to lift or move materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
? Sufficient visual and auditory acuity to monitor student activities and communicate effectively.
? Ability to handle multiple tasks and assist in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment
? Work is performed in a school setting, including classrooms and outdoor spaces.
? Frequent interaction with students, teachers, and staff.
? May require occasional evening or weekend work for meetings or special events.
? May require travel between multiple school sites.
Essential Functions
? Assist teachers with classroom preparation and instructional activities.
? Provide support to individual students or small groups as directed by the teacher.
? Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, and lunch periods.
? Help maintain classroom organization and cleanliness.
? Reinforce positive behavior and assist with behavior management strategies.
? Monitor student attendance and participation.
? Communicate effectively with teachers and staff regarding student needs.
? Assist with clerical duties such as copying materials and organizing supplies.
