Job Description
Job Summary:
Provide restorative nursing care under the supervision of a licensed nurse and coordinate care with other facility and rehabilitation personnel.
Job Responsibilities:
- Preparing resident for restorative services as therapeutically warranted by PT, OT, or ST, and administering routine treatments when qualified to do so.
- Assist residents in improving skills in grooming, self-feeding, dressing, ambulation, bowel and bladder training, etc
- Assisting residents in putting on and removing assistive and supportive devices such as braces, splints, slings, etc., prior to and after treatment.
- Administering routine exercise and activity treatments such as gait training, bicycle exercise, and range of motion.
- Assisting in transporting resident to and from therapy room/area and transferring residents between treatment equipment using proper transfer techniques appropriate to the resident’s condition.
- Being alert to resident’s response to procedure/program and reporting any signed of pain, fatigue, and/or other problems.
- Maintaining a treatment record and documentation of progress on each resident receiving restorative service.
- Safeguarding, motivating, and assisting residents practicing exercise in functional activities.
