In Kansas City, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T) manages and operates the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) Kansas City National Security Campus. This state-of-the-art engineering, manufacturing and sourcing facility produces a wide array of intricate components to deliver trusted national security products and government services primarily for the NNSA. SummaryThe Lead App Development Analyst typically leads and coordinates highly complex or enterprise critical projects that require extensive expertise and knowledge within a specific area of responsibility. This role will be interacting with internal stakeholders and team members, while also responsible for information systems within a specific application portfolio.
Duties and Responsibilities
Facilitates cross functional communications with business customers, stakeholders, technical team, and subject matter experts leveraging broad industry knowledge.
Delivers implementation strategy roadmap for assigned applications and ensure application(s) remain current within vendor support.
Writes clean, efficient, and well-documented code which may include Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) configurations.
Mentors technical team to improve product’s functionality including developing standards and best practices.
Takes ownership of application stability for their assigned applications following industry standard best practices.
Stays up to date with application releases, adjacent relevant technology, and industry best practices.
Authors knowledge sharing documentation.
Leads application tasks specific to multiple enterprise level projects.
Provides strategic direction and guidance on code based on business process understanding.
Influences enterprise information systems opportunities that align with corporate strategy and performance. Ability to create and present a polished executable plan with risk factors identified.
Leads appropriate level of team interactions including delegation to teammates to drive issue resolution and facilitate effective collaboration and meetings.
Drives solutions to technical problems and effectively communicates the problems to vendors, customers, and team members.
You Must Have
Bachelors degree
7 or more years of direct work experience with Information Technology applications and/or infrastructure
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
United States Citizenship
Ability to work on-site as directed by management and as determined by the needs of the business
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)
We Value
Dedicated specific experience in multiple languages and applications (i.e., .NET, Python, HTML, Gitlab)
Industry knowledge of manufacturing, government, and U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)
Ability to translate business goals into an AWS‑centric technical roadmap
Hands-on AWS CDK at scale with a track record of measurable toil reduction through automation
Experience selecting and defending AWS service trade offs
Expert level at debugging software issues and experience triaging issues in production environments
Experience with Cyber Security design requirements including resolving complex security issues by developing, and implementing innovative technical solutions
Ability to mentor senior level colleagues
Production use of AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Fargate, or EKS
