Job Description

Position Objective 

Manage finance and accounting departments providing information, primarily financial in nature, about all company activities that will assist management, its shareholders and other users in making educated economic decisions about the company's future. Also directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function.

  • Develops and administers various human resources plan and procedures for all company personnel. 
  • Plans, organizes and controls all activities of the department. Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems. 
  • Implements and annually updates the compensation program; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; conducts annual salary surveys and develops merit pool (salary budget); analyzes compensation; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary. 
  • Develops, recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures; performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness, information activities program and cash flow. 
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations. 
  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt, nonexempt and temporary workers, maintaining a recruitment funnel for candidates; writes and places advertisements; works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; conducts reference checking; extends job offers; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-path program and employee relations counseling; conducts exit interviews and climate assessments.
  • Establishes, maintains and oversees employee morale, recognition and retention programs. 
  • Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars. Maintains organizational charts and employee directory. 
  • Evaluates reports, decisions and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed. 
  • Processes payroll.
  • Develops and delivers/facilitates training, including—but not limited to—communication, compliance, managerial and process training.
  • Secures and maintains all the Companies’ required insurance coverage.
  • Documents and updates SOPs and posts them to the Companies’ intranet.
  • Develops and oversees the onboarding process.
  • Facilitates conflict resolution, team building and team coaching.
  • Plans and coordinates employee events.
  • Oversees the safety program and development of/adherence to the Companies’ Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies.
  • Responsible for ensuring adherence to company, industry, federal and state safety standards to ensure compliance and a safe working environment. 
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws.  
  • Oversee the activities of the corporate accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements and annual audits and annual budgets. 
  • Oversee the activities of the disbursement department, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, core employee expense reports, cash control, core payroll processing and total corporate payroll tax compliance. 
  • Oversee the activities of the accounts receivable department to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components including billings, cash receipts application, etc.; funding service management, which includes weekly funding reports and customer service; quarter and year-end payroll closing including federal and state reports; and check statistic management. 
  • Assure corporate income tax compliance to assure the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns taking full advantage of all favorable tax codes. 
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the company's value. 
  • Respond to Executive Leadership as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate financial needs. 
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports. 
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner. 
  • Maintains and monitors DUNS scores/report.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
  • Guide and lead a team to perform administrative or non-production duties.
  • Any other duties assigned by upper management.
