Job Title: Facilities Technician Reports to: Facilities and Safety Manager Department: Facilities FLSA Class: Non-Exempt - FT Updated: January 2024 Summary: The Facilities Technician is responsible for supporting the Facilities and Safety Manager in executing the building maintenance requirements of Hunter Health Clinic (HHC) as well as performing a variety of work in the areas of transportation, inventory management, and safety management. The Facilities Technician is required to provide safe, high-quality customer service while maintaining compliance with all federal grants, federal and local law, HIPAA and HHC policies and procedures. Job Responsibilities: Performs general building maintenance to include plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and other maintenance responsibilities. Performs or schedules preventative maintenance of Hunter Health property including, but not limited to HVAC units, eye wash stations, vehicles, etc. Assists with the work request system and the ordering of supplies and materials. Helps maintain Hunter Health’s Inventory Management System. Moves and assists in moving furniture and equipment. Oversees and performs the set-up and tear-down duties associated with events. Assists and serves as backup to other Facilities employees. Transports patients, equipment, employees, and deliveries safely and professionally. Works openly with the Facilities and Safety Manager to improve processes. Assume responsibility for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations within the clinic. Exemplifies, supports, and promotes organizations’ Standards of Culture. Other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications: Minimum High School Graduate or GED preferred. Two years of experience (three or more highly desirable) required maintaining various building interior and exterior surfaces, including painted and papered walls, baseboards, tiled and carpeted floor surfaces, and brass and stainless-steel finishes. Experience with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment, carpentry, and general and preventative maintenance preferred. Current and valid Kansas driver’s license required with an acceptable motor vehicle record risk rating. Finger Dexterity: Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up objects and pinching fingers together Average Visual Abilities: Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus. Working Conditions: Works in a well-lit, climate-controlled environment. Outdoor, indoor, and warehouse-like conditions also exist, which will require work in extreme hot, cold, and dusty conditions. The noise level in the work environment is sometimes high. Potential exposure to infectious disease is possible. Physical Strength: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Mathematical Ability: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
