An ideal candidate for this position is someone with nonprofit and strategic marketing experience, public speaking, government relations and supervisory experience in a leadership role. Comfortable speaking to large groups and participating in engagement events is a must!

The Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications is responsible for developing, designing, coordinating and implementing the communication and publications for HumanKind Ministries (HK), both to internal and external audiences. The Director will develop and implement effective and strategic communications and marketing for the organization. S/he will communicate the vision and define priorities through the development of key messages shared strategically to the community. This position helps educate the greater Sedgwick County community, motivating volunteers, donors, government and community partners to get involved.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Implement a full marketing plan (digital, print, events, etc.) that incorporates best practices into HK’s marketing and communication strategies, programs and techniques.

· Partner with all departments to develop and implement communications and marketing strategies appropriate for their functions and goals, with particular focus on advancement and special events

· Represent HK in communications and marketing groups and the broader community including through speaking engagements, community events and media outlets

· Manage and optimize the budget for all communications and marketing efforts

· Measure the effectiveness of communication and marketing processes and campaigns to ensure they support HK’s goals and priorities

· Include an annual assessment of goals, timelines, strategies, appeals, events, and stewardship and outreach tactics

· Oversee all timely, quality communications and marketing initiatives

· Ensure systems and processes are in place to prioritize and support communications and marketing requests

· Design, develop, edit, and distribute communications and marketing deliverables

· Selection and evaluation of internal and external communications ensuring that HK’s message is being effectively and efficiently delivered to target audiences and achieving expected results

· Monitor efficiency and performance of marketing programs, particularly those focused on fundraising and community engagement

· Identify solid and unique promotional partners that will help expand the HK’s brand and image

· Manage, lead and coordinate all digital marketing efforts including a strategy incorporating social, web and email

· In partnership with the President/CEO, Senior Director of Donor Relations, s/he is responsible for all public relation matters, including speaking engagements and press releases

· Understand and report on marketing analytics including digital and traditional

· Work with Development team to create marketing strategies for events and implementation of all marketing and communication needs for volunteer efforts

· Assists as needed with Operation Holiday, as directed by President/CEO

· Responsible for all communications design, editorial messages, and video

· All other duties as assigned by the President/CEO

· Responsible for coordinating and executing interviews with news outlets as needed

· Responsible for website design and upkeep, including working with contracted web developer

· Supervises all members of Marketing team to ensure division of labor, projects managed appropriately and timelines and budgets met.
