Job Summary and Qualifications
The Facilities Tech performs routine maintenance of campus facility and equipment; assists with security coverage; assembles and/or repairs doors, locks, tables, and other items as needed; obtains estimates for outside vendors for management approval; replace light bulbs and supplies; paint and repair walls, door frames; performs ancillary custodial duties; follow daily, weekly, and quarterly cleaning and maintenance schedule; and maintain a secure and comfortable campus climate for students, faculty and staff.
What you will do in this role:
Performs minor repairs of all building and equipment.
Install cable and other items, as needed.
Responds to emergency maintenance requests, as required.
Assemble and/or repair doors, locks, tables, and other items, as needed.
Coordinates and supervises major repairs performed by outside vendors.
Arrange for professional cleaning of school prior to the beginning of each quarter.
Keeps building keys secure.
Prevent access to any unauthorized persons inside the premises.
Monitor behavior of suspicious persons and/or vehicles. Notify authorities, if needed.
Be alert and ready to deal with security issues.
Patrols assigned area including parking areas. Check for suspicious occurrences, and enforces parking rules and regulations.
Guard's property against fire, theft, vandalism and illegal entry.
What qualifications you will need:
Special Qualifications: Communicate orally with co-workers, customers, clients, or the public in a face-to-face, one-to-one setting or using a telephone. Work cooperatively with other contractors, employees, various levels of management, and students.
Physical/Mental Demands & Work Environment: Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Lift 25-50 pounds.
