Job Description

Job Purpose and Objectives: 

Manual labor involving a variety of duties associated with Reno County Solid Waste Management Department.

 

Job Competencies:

Mow or trim grass, weeds, and other tall growth; cut trees and brush with tractor mowers. Pit spotting at the Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) and Construction Demo Sites. Maintain written records and daily time sheets. Pick up loose paper and other debris. Must be able to report for work outside of the regular scheduled hours including overtime, when necessary to maintain effective operation of the Solid Waste department.  Observe, at all times, safe working conditions around and with landfill construction, maintenance equipment, and Solid Waste Management equipment. Be aware of safety when working in areas also used by the driving public. Responsible for pit and demo pickup, by keeping clean and reporting any issues with the pickups. Field repairs on equipment. Adhere to safety concerns on the job. Normal cleanup around work areas. Redirect traffic to appropriate sites for diversified loads. Protects and maintains any confidential information you have access to, whether oral, written, or electronic. Operates all job-related equipment, machinery, tools and other aids as required or needed.
