What You Can Expect Working in the Service Lot Technician Position
The Service Lot Technician is responsible for the maintenance and modification of portable storage containers, blast- resistant modular buildings, and other industrial buildings at one of our service yards. In this role, you will utilize basic industrial construction and maintenance skills to make necessary repairs and modifications to ready buildings for the next customer after they have come off rent. Common repairs and modifications include: the replacement of flooring, windows, doors, lighting, and walls; painting; performing carpentry work; washing and cleaning of units.Responsibilities
Assesses condition of box to determine type of repair needed and repairs and services the unit, as required.
Performs preventive maintenance of assets and equipment at customer or company sites.
Provides proper and prompt service and maintenance in preparation for next rental.
Troubleshoots and performs carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and communication repair or replacement.
Examines products or work to verify conformance to specifications and ensure quality of products or work.
Follows established safety and security rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean working environment.
Performs other duties, as assigned.Minimum Qualifications
6+ months of construction-related experience.
Ability to read a tape measure and practice basic arithmetic.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to follow instructions and provide consistent work.
Works well as part of a team.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to obtain forklift or heavy equipment certification. Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of experience in construction, including skills in either carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or HVAC.Work Environment

This position is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside. Temperatures can be below 32 degrees or above 100 degrees for periods longer than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity.
There is enough noise to cause the employee to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level. Subject to vibration, exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body. Subject to atmospheric conditions. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
This position is regularly subject to repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers and is regularly required to operate machinery and/or power tools. Occasionally required to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
This position is regularly required to ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like.
The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes. operates machines, such as lathes, drill presses, power saws, and mills where the seeing job is at or within arm's reach; performs mechanical or skilled trades tasks of a non-repetitive nature, such as carpenter, technicians, service people, plumbers, painters, mechanics, etc; to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned; or to make general observations of facilities or structures; to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
