About this Role
Molding Technician is an important role on the Silgan Dispensing team and a great opportunity for those looking for a position within molding. The Molding Technician will tend injection-molding machines, to mold plastic components on a production basis.
Set-up machines, Temperature controllers, cooling systems, valve gates systems and color equipment to achieve standard operating efficiencies.
Pull and set molds when instructed using chain hoists and/or forklifts
Perform color changes
Set up box mover systems, material systems, conveyors, and granulators.
Set up and maintain part containment.
Perform daily mold PM's
Perform general simple machine maintenance.
Drive forklift in and out of doors to move material and molds.
Calibrate color additives and use gram scales and math formulas to determine letdown ratio.
Tumble material and color or attach liquid color hoses and set controls for letdown.
Maintain molding scrap area.
Print labels as needed.
Perform Manufacturing Associate duties as required.
Perform Process Technician duties as required.
Update MIU on a timely basis to ensure accuracy of data collected as required, i.e. blocked cavities, downtime reason codes, etc.
