Job Description

Conduct regular reviews of supplier/customer quality data and communicate with suppliers/customers on feedback and plans for improvement; areas may include external/internal measurements, corrective actions, and implementation of improvement processes and programs. Manage the analysis and utilization of data and information from part/product inspection, sales/return data, and Product Support to improve part/product and processes across the various Garmin sites. Work with Design Engineering to fulfill customer contractual requirements relating to quality requirements as flowed down from the customer agreements (i.e. PPAP, FMEA, capability studies, gage studies) and participate in ECO reviews. Manage the performance of advance statistical analysis as needed to support operations, manufacturing, engineering, supplier and/or customer requirements. Provide expertise and training for continuous improvement methodologies, problem solving methodologies, statistical techniques and quality tools. Provide support to drive supplier improvements by working with Global Supply Chain. Support MRB (Material Review Board) procedures and process which may include measurements to track and communicate quality data to the organization, suppliers, and customers.  Efforts will include communications with the multiple facilities of Garmin and coordinating team efforts in root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive actions. Team with Design Engineering, Process Engineering, Reliability, Materials/Purchasing, Customer Repair, and Manufacturing in introducing new products into Manufacturing. Champion activities to maximize reliability of both new and existing products.  Work with Design Engineering, Materials, Manufacturing, Customer Repair, and Process Engineering to identify and implement process and design improvements in order to continuously improve production yield and product quality.  Develop and lead GARMIN quality program initiatives (as assigned) involving applications, certifications, and compliance audits of organizational, or customer required quality systems.  Ensure the organizations processes and procedures are aligned with various certification and approval organizations representing quality systems (e.g. ISO9001, IATF14969, Customer Specific Requirements etc.). Support the internal auditing process to ensure quality system compliance, provide feedback to management regarding opportunities for improvement and support overall effectiveness of the quality system. Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance. Set the tone for the team environment and build healthy team relationships. Lead the development efforts of team members with diverse capability levels. Create, implement, and deliver training programs as directed to support Quality initiatives. Associates are permitted to work from home, within commuting distance of office, up to two days per week provided that their job duties can be performed effectively while working from home, and if they have appropriate approval from their manager.
