Responsibilities

Our Strategic Communications Consultants help federal clients effectively communicate concepts, process, or data to achieve long term goals. As a Senior Consultant, you will work as part of a team of problem-solvers with extensive consulting and healthcare experience, helping our clients solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include:

+ Collaborate with staff across work streams to support the client and project team in the development and implementation of transformational strategic communications

+ Independently partner with client executives to develop trusting relationships across the engagement team

+ Create content that will proactively engage national program employee stakeholders, including:

+ Web content

+ Blogs

+ Emails

+ General one-pagers

+ Lead the entire communications for a client site location, overseeing individual contributions as well as work of additional engagement staff

+ Guide client conversations towards effective outcomes

+ Identify and mitigate projects risks around scope, schedule, budget, and quality, effectively escalating to engagement leadership

+ Develop strategies to solve complex clinical, technical, and operational strategies for our healthcare clients

+ Actively support business development activities to help identify, research, and pursue opportunities for new / existing clients

+ Contribute to development of team’s industry acumen and capabilities through contribution to internal firm initiatives

+ Train, mentor, and lead staff, both within engagement as well as internal development

Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

+ A minimum of three years of management consulting experience in federal and/or healthcare sector(s)

+ At least five years of experience in strategic communications, including an understanding and working knowledge of:

+ Transformation communications

+ Health Care

+ Change management

+ Campaign management and coordination

Preferred Skills/Experience

+ Ability to develop integrated messaging while working to incorporate multiple stakeholder view

+ Experience partnering with executives on talking points, media engagement and crisis management

+ Organizational and project management skills, with the ability lead and collaborate with team members and effectively prioritize time and resources

+ Excellent communication skills across all levels of business, both written and verbal

+ Ability to develop integrated messaging while working to incorporate multiple stakeholder viewpoints

+ Experience building complex analytic models to enable strategic decision making

+ Ability to adapt quickly to a complex culture and develop successful professional relationships with key stakeholders

+ Experience working in VA or DOD preferred but not required

+ Military background is a plus but not required

+ Healthcare non-profit communications background highly desired

+ Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% to client sites across the United States.

+ Strong writing/journalism background is preferred

+ Expertise with crisis communications work

Additional Requirements

The successful candidate must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer (such as a non-compete) that would prevent the candidate from performing the job responsibilities as described. This role is available virtually. Strong consideration will be given to candidates in the Washington, DC, metro area. The salary range for this role is $90,000- $120,000; may vary based on experience and location.
