About This Job

Commerce Bank is a delegated lender with a long history of Small Business Administration (SBA) lending. We are seeking to add a Senior Risk Analyst – SBA Portfolio to the Commercial Specialty Lending team.

With the SBA Paycheck Protection Program efforts in 2020 & 2021, we have increased our SBA loan portfolio more than 24×. While most of the PPP loans will be forgiven before October 31, 2022, we estimate that a subset of those loans will remain requiring ongoing portfolio and servicing management. Loans within each SBA program require unique documentation and procedures not only at origination but also through the servicing of these transactions over the life of the loan. Thus, expanding our dedicated team of experienced subject matter experts is vital.

This role will support the continued success of this team, while also providing adequate bandwidth to expand our traditional SBA lending capacities.

Essential Functions

For SBA PPP loan program

+ Address audit inquiries from the US SBA

+ Determine if requested servicing actions are permitted under program guidelines

+ Compile necessary documentation and advise relationship manager on appropriate steps per program guidelines in the event of default on an SBA PPP credit

+ Forgiveness application processing SME (for broader cross-functional team, customer and banker questions, customer assistance)

+ Documenting change in terms (CIT) agreements outside of standard CIT defined by legal

+ Addressing defaults on unforgiven amounts

For existing loan programs

+ Analyze existing processes and make recommendations for process improvements

+ Create/maintain procedural documentation to fac
