Job DescriptionWe have openings for forklift operators. Pay depends on the shift. The forklift operators will either, lift a tethered employee in a tray to pick materials for the customer and then place the tray on the order-filling table, or lift a loaded tray of steel and place the tray into the rack. The operator is responsible for the safety and training of the individual on the lifting platform. The operator will correctly correspond the customer’s order and tray location and is responsible to go to the correct rack location as indicated on the packing list and communicate to the picker the correct location, steel, and number of pieces According to the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, 4th edition, 1991, the physical demand level of a forklift operator is medium. Reasonable accommodations for the physical demand of the forklift operator can be created. The essential job function of the fork-lift operator is lifting materials 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and 10 pounds of force constantly. The forklift operator will have to push, pull, lift and carry on an average of 30 pounds. The operator will use full range of motion while performing the essential job functions.
