Job Description

Supervises, trains, develops, and leads a team of Account Managers to achieve targeted membership growth. Helps develop strategies that increase market share and leads the team in executing strategies. Analyzes and reviews Account Managers’ territory and account plans, ensuring opportunities are moved along the pipeline. Provides one-on-one training, coaching and evaluation of Account Managers and recommends additional development activities. Fulfils responsibility of Account Managers in an assigned territory as needed. Works under general supervision.



+ Leads a team of Account Managers in an assigned regional area (East, Mid-Atlantic, Central or West).

+ Supervises and monitors the work of assigned sales team. Maintains an annual schedule to visit team members one-on-one in their territory. Provide feedback and coaching during client visits and agency events. Maintains regularly scheduled virtual one-on-one meetings with Account Managers to review progress toward goals and opportunities.

+ Works with leadership team to establish goals for account managers and analyzes data to measure the effectiveness of account managers’ activities. Continuously feeds market intelligence to the sales team and sets specific sales goals to achieve targets.

+ Creates strategies for driving growth in high potential areas. This includes developing presentations and facilitating training sessions on new strategies for promoting GEHA’s products and services.

+ Recommends sales and performance improvement strategies to help drive company growth and individual development, while maintaining consistency and quality among sales team. Makes recommendations to Director for additional training or activities as needed.

+ Supports federal agency benefits personnel for assistance at federal employee events. Participates as a resource during new hire orientations to help educate employees on federal benefits and GEHA plan options. Works with Director and Account Managers to increase GEHA awareness and membership growth at federal agencies year-round.
