Summary of Responsibilities
Individual will perform various quality duties for new manufacturing line. They will be responsible for writing procedures, developing quality metrics and inspection criteria, performing inspections, establishing corrective actions, carrying out internal audits as well as managing third party audits.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related field by date of hire
Minimum Experience
- Five (5) years of experience as a quality engineer in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience with third party quality management accreditation process.
- Previous auditing involvement
US Export Compliance Requirement
This position requires access to EAR or ITAR controlled technologies. Applicants are required to be eligible for employment under U.S. export control laws and must meet the requirement of being a ”U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee and those given asylum in the United States, and temporary residents granted amnesty OR eligible to obtain U.S. government authorization for this position by the time of hire. Information will need to be collected in this regard, but will only be used to ensure compliance with U.S. export control laws. Preferred Education
Master’s degree in Engineering or higher in a related field.
Preferred Experience
- Ten (10) years of experience working in industry.
- Knowledge of managing laboratory research and testing, and developing research test protocols and procedures.
- Experience corresponding with government and industry clients concerning conformity inspections and certifications issues.
- Experience documenting and analyzing project test results and generating final reports for clients.
- Experience communicating with university purchasing office and budget officers to successfully purchase and provide maintenance services for research laboratory equipment and tools.
Regular Hours of Work: Typically 8-5, Monday-Friday
Environmental Factors
The laboratory setting involves the use of large automated equipment along with various measurement and testing devices that use high-pressure fluids and industrial electrical connections. Strict adherence to safety and lab procedures are required. Failure to follow safety and lab procedures could result in serious injury including loss of life
