Job Description


The National Account Manager will be responsible for high-level, day to day management of a large national account. Will oversee the activities regarding pricing, cost changes, margin mining, and overall sales reporting. This role will manage a Sales Assistant and drive margin enhancement activities and managing the key financial processes of the customer in order to drive profitable growth for the business relationship. Ensure Bunzl is operating and servicing in accordance with the Supply Agreement. Ability to hold the customer accountable while continuously seeking opportunities to grow sales and profit while cultivating relationships at all levels of the organization.

The candidate must live in one of the cities within the Mid-Central Market: Kansas City, Memphis, Oklahoma or New Orleans


+ Present strategic plan to grow opportunities to help meet the Mid Central region revenue and PBIT goals.

+ Execute and Drive the Supermarket Target Vendor Program with the supermarket team.

+ Develop and rollout the Supermarket Food Safety Program.

+ Regularly conduct customer status meetings with the customer Category manager and Quarterly Business reviews with Leadership team.

+ Manage 120 day inventory with the Supermarket Sales Managers.

+ Support and drive initiatives with the Promotions team. (Purchasing team and Sales Director).

+ Ensure we are exceeding customer’s expectations (vendor performance).

+ Manage Profitability and growth of customer accounts

+ Hold the national account customer accountable to our business model and supply agreement

+ Responsible for planning and forecasting business needs and customer Sales Budget

+ Monthly Sales and Budget Tracking of customer results.

+ Manage and oversee the Sales Assistant.


+ High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred

+ Five or more years successful sales and sales management experience

+ Strong work ethic and commitment to grow business profitability

+ Previous Sales Management or General Management experience

+ Previous experience within Redistribution preferred

+ Demonstrated ability to develop a sales plan and execute it

+ Effective written, verbal and presentation communication skills

+ Demonstrated ability to build confidence and support of key customers

+ Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team concept

+ Understanding of financial modeling and cost accounting

+ Strong planning and project management skills

+ Demonstrated effective decision making skills

+ Ability to travel up to 25%
