Cost Accountant / Financial Analyst

    The Cost Accountant supports the Accounting Manager and Chief Financial Officer in a variety of areas; including cost accounting financial accounting, and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze the trends of Key Performance Indicators (KPI), especially relating to financial metrics such as revenues, expenditures, and profit margin
Coordinate with Heads of Department to establish annual budgets
Identify the root cause of any unexpected variances to budget
Develop and continually improve budgeting, financial projections, and operating forecast
Present monthly financial reports of various units and Heads of Department
Collaborate with Heads of Department to identify and implement process improvements
Develop financial models and analyze them to support strategic initiatives
Support management team and the Heads of Department with data-driven analysis
Ad-hoc business performance reporting
Assist in month-end and year end closing
Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions
Follow finance department policy and procedure, as it relates to segregation of duties and responsible management of organizational assets.
Other duties as assigned.

Attend all applicable facility in-service and staff developmental activities as scheduled.
Monitors and takes initiatives to adhere to compliance aspects of the position.
Evaluates own practice and accepts constructive feedback regarding performance.
BBA in Accounting, Finance, or other relevant study.
In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Excel (familiarity with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables)
Experience with accounting software
Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
Non-Profit or Grant Management experience a plus (not required)
