Job Description

MEP Mechanical Engineer – Kansas

GBA is a professional, full service architectural and engineering firm. Our Life Sciences Group, specializing in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry, is an integrated team of architects, engineers, commissioning specialists, project manager, and construction managers who serves many of the world’s Top 20 bio-pharma companies. Project assignments include manufacturing facilities, research facilities, clean rooms, R&D/QA labs, and pilot plants. We are experiencing growth as a firm and are seeking a qualified mechanical engineering candidate, with a focus in MEP building systems, to join the team at our headquarters in Lenexa, KS (Kansas City Metro).

Responsibilities:
Provide leadership for the design of mechanical HVAC, plumbing, and piping design for bio/pharma and industrial manufacturing facilities
Technical experience in designing building equipment and utility systems. This includes chilled water, hot water, and steam systems and the associated equipment (chillers, cooling towers, HW boilers and steam boilers)
Preparation of project work plans and construction documents
Review of shop drawings and RFI’s Client, Owner, Contractor interface
Supports project goals by completing projects on time/on budget
Participates in discipline QA/QC process
Coordinates work with other project team members
Requirements:
BS in Architectural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
At least 7 years of related experience
Registered Professional Engineer, preferred
Experience with complex building projects
Adept at working on fast-paced, technically challenging projects
Able to work in a collaborative team environment
Must be proficient in AutoCAD, Revit is preferred
