Job Description

Montgomery County Public Works Department is seeking applicants to fill a Laborer/Operator Trainee position on our Bridge crew. Carpentry and/or concrete experience preferred. Job duties include building forms for bridges and culverts, concrete pouring and finishing work with some time (less than 25%) operating equipment. The applicant must have a current driver’s license and be able to obtain a Class-B CDL within 6-months of employment. Training and equipment will be provided. Current CDL is preferred. Benefits include paid holidays, accumulated 8 hours vacation and 8 hours sick leave per month after probationary period, health/dental insurance, KPERS retirement and uniforms. Beginning wage is $13.77 per hour, with an increase of up to $14.82 per hour after 6 months. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Applicants must pass a background check, pre-employment drug test, physical and back x-ray before a position will be offered. Applications will be accepted until filled.
