Nurse Coordinator – Health

Location: Wichita, KS, US

Company: Sedgwick County

Pay: $42,890.00 annually

Work Schedule: 40 hours (work week may exceed 40 hours)

The Healthy Babies Nurse Coordinator provides for the day-to-day supervision of the Healthy Babies Nursing staff. The program’s focus is on reduction of infant mortality, low birth weight, and prematurity among high risk moms.

Performs administrative work to assist the Healthy Babies Program Manager. Participates in the planning and direction of the Healthy Babies Program, including personnel management, budget preparation and grant writing. Reviews complex or difficult office and field procedures and the development of procedural improvements.

Coordinate daily provider activities as well as manage and evaluate personnel outcomes and expectations as they are related to grant requirements.

Monitor provider caseloads to ensure they are accurate and up to date.
Review weekly and monthly reports regarding provider compliance as they relate to grant outcomes.
Work with the Program Manager and Senior Administrative Assistant to ensure program outcomes are met.
Meet with providers on a consistent basis to discuss progress on meeting program outcomes.
Will participate, facilitate and promote partnership building and maintenance with both internal and external partners. Will represent Healthy Babies in a positive manner and promote the program goals and mission to foster positive support from community partners.

Will attend and participate in community coalitions as requested.
Will provide Healthy Babies program objectives and participant criteria to community partners as requested.
Will promote and foster provider participation with internal and external partners.
Compiles monthly data reports to track timely and accurate completion and submission of program-required documents. Also monitors and manages provider’s caseloads to ensure equal distribution of client cases.

Monitors weekly and monthly reports and provides feedback as requested to the Senior Administrative Assistant.
Monitors providers progress towards achieving program requirements as stated in program grants.
Uses tools such as data tracking spreadsheets to track provider progress.
Establishes clear deadlines for providers to complete tasks as assigned.
Reviews error reports sent by the Senior Administrative Assistant and documents timely provider completion.
Reviews electronic charts for provider documentation accuracy.
Reviews electronic charts as part of their monthly supervision with providers to ensure program outcomes are being met.
Ensures program quality by completing quality assurance checks on client medical records and provider documentation.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in nursing. Three years nursing experience; experience shall include one year supervisory experience. Requires knowledge working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Current Kansas R.N. license, valid State of Kansas Driver’s License.

Preferred Qualifications: Three years’ experience, preferably in public health or women’s health. Experience with public speaking and presentation development. Experience with data management.
