Job Title: Mechanical HVAC Design Engineer

Location: 9401 Renner Blvd, Lenexa, KS 66219

Duties: Develop design and construction documents of HVAC and Plumbing system design for buildings per building compliance codes, and coordinate with other disciplines. Perform HVAC and Plumbing calculations for buildings. Prepare design narratives, scope of work, and deliverables for the HVAC and Plumbing system design for buildings. Responsible for developing HVAC and Plumbing specifications for the buildings as per requirements. Responsible for reviewing vendor submittals and shop drawings for the mechanical equipment. Assess and summarize HVAC analysis for the buildings using various analysis tools. Assess and summarize existing field HVAC conditions of the buildings and design based on HVAC requirements. Provide reviews and comments on constructability of HVAC and Plumbing design drawings. Develop project-related mechanical standards to be used in future projects.

Requirements: Masters of science in mechanical and aerospace engineering or a closely related field and 1 year of experience as a mechanical engineer or related which must include:Energy simulation and development tools (EnergyPlus and eQUEST); modeling and analyzing energy impact of chilled beams for Underfloor Air Distribution systems and validating efficiency and energy savings using EnergyPlus core development tool; using FORTRAN, and VB-Excel Development tools for thermal systems; and performing HVAC calculations using TRACE calculation software.
