Job Description

Overview: Full time position available
The Maintenance General Laborer is responsible for a variety of general laborer duties which include but are not limited to landscaping, snow removal, painting, cleaning and other duties as assigned by the Residential Property Manager or designee. The Maintenance General Laborer will be expected to perform skilled building maintenance tasks, including repairs to flooring (ie. tile, carpet, vinyl, laminate), windows/screens, plumbing, plastering and cement areas as requested. Also involves general maintenance such as rough carpentry, lock replacement, plumbing work, basic HVAC and minor appliance and electrical repairs. The worker is expected to able to perform the duties as assigned with direct or minimal supervision, and in accordance with published safety standards and regulations.

Essential Responsibilities:
•Performs tasks such as landscaping, completing make readies, preventative maintenance and daily maintenance
•Orally communicate clearly and effectively with team, supervisors, and customers
•Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to complete assigned work orders
•Completes assigned duties as per supervisor request
•Basic computer skills to ensure checking of work email, entering mileage, and clocking in/out and submitting time off requests using the agency system

Other Position Responsibilities:
•Operate in compliance with personnel policies
•Promote the mission and values of the Mental Health Association
•Attend MHA staff meetings and trainings as required
•Completes required timesheets, mileage sheets, expense sheets and other agency required paperwork accurately and on-time.
•Submits receipts on time and code expenses accurately as trained.

Position Requirements:

This position requires the ability to follow directions, manage time effectively, and complete tasks independently. Applicant must have skilled labor experience laying flooring, painting, experience with basic plumbing repairs, and the ability to complete basic appliance repairs in addition to a variety of general construction and repairs/facility needs. Valid and current KS driver’s license required.
