Lead Linux System Engineer

Job Description

Lead System Engineers are critical to the successful implementation of Cerner solutions within healthcare environments. In this role, the Lead System Engineer is expected to take a consultative approach to an extensive change process by using relationship building skills to develop trust and rapport with clients, multiple teams and vendors. Lead System Engineers will provide system implementation, support, monitoring and maintenance of Cerner’s solutions and services.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, CIS, MIS or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • At least 5 years of system engineering work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of Linux System engineer work experience
  • Scripting experience preferred
  • Automation experience preferred

Expectations

  • Willing to reside and/or relocate to Kansas City
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
