The Supply Chain Manager will develop and manage the materials planning function for goods and materials; identify cost saving opportunities, creating competitive environments, productively negotiate/generate contracts.
•Drive the sourcing strategy that delivers a competitive advantage including implementation of the strategic supplier initiatives. This includes supplier selection, development, and supplier consolidation to ensure sourcing optimization and overall supplier performance.
•Develop strategies and drive negotiations to meet the quality, fulfillment and productivity requirements of the business.
•Sources and purchases machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services and/or supplies necessary for operation of the organization.
•Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives.
•Compiles information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes.
•Confers with suppliers and analyzes suppliers’ operations to determine factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability and ability to meet required schedules.
•Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, follows up orders placed, verifies delivery, approves payment and maintains necessary records.
•Monitor and report on supplier performance and implement corrective action when required.
•Must have 3 years of experience in supply chain role within the aerospace industry and prior managerial/supervisory experience.
•Must have strong knowledge of production flow, inventory flow, and documentation procedures.
•Must have strong business/financial acumen, proficient in leading and setting direction for teams, including demonstrated ability to motivate, influence and drive change at all levels of the organization.
•Must have proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office products – specifically with MS Word and Excel.
•Must be authorized to work in the United States. International Traffic in Arms Regulations/Export Administration Regulations (ITAR/EAR) clearance may be required.
•Must demonstrate excellent listening and communication skills.
•Must demonstrate good time management skills.
•Must display a high degree of confidentiality at all times.
•Strong preference will be given to individuals with experience in manufacturing – especially within the aerospace industry.
