About This Role:
The Louthan lab in the Division of Biology seeks a Postdoctoral Associate with research experience collecting demographic data, as well as constructing and analyzing structured population models. Our lab works at the interface of population and community ecology, focusing on how interactions among organisms might change in a future climate. The successful applicant will be responsible for analyzing already-existing experimental and demographic data, including studies of the stress-gradient hypothesis and functional redundancy of herbivore species. They will also help initiate new fieldwork in a variety of locations, potentially including Mpala Research Center in East Africa. The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to work collaboratively with the PI to identify research questions related to the lab’s work, and address these questions using new or existing data. The position could begin as soon as January 1, 2020, and will continue for up to two years. Applicants that will complete their dissertation after January 2020 are also encouraged to apply, as the start date can be delayed for highly qualified candidates.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Ph.D. in ecology or a related field by start date of employment
- Evidence of strong research productivity
- Experience collecting demographic data and constructing structured population models
- Experience constructing integral projection models.
