Under the general direction of the Manager of Cardiology, the Cardiology Services Technician (EKG tech) is responsible for performing ECG’s and the application, removal and processing of Holter/Event Monitors. The Cardiology Technician provides appropriate care to all patients from neonatal to geriatric. The Cardiology Technician demonstrates a basic knowledge of cardiac arrhythmias and the cardiac disease process. The Cardiology Technician demonstrates the ability to process, confirm and manage EKG’s from the time the EKG is obtained to the time the EKG is confirmed by a cardiologist, performs filing of reports and any other activity assigned by manager to assure the department runs efficiently.

High School graduate or GED required
Prefer graduate Cardiology Technician program
BLS certification and successful completion of dysrhythmia course within 6 months of employment.
Effective interpersonal communication and team skills required
