Summary: Develops and manages accessible, accurate, current and efficient evidence-based information services that are aligned with the strategic directions of the organization. Works with Baker University School of Nursing faculty to provide seamless and high caliber library services for Baker University School of Nursing faculty and students. Provide skilled reference and research services including instruction to support patient care and patient education, management decision-making, performance improvement activities, and/or education and research needs of Stormont-Vail HealthCare medical staff, employees, patients, families, and Baker School of Nursing faculty and students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
+ Conducts information and literature searches using varied sources and strategies.
+ Answers questions and provides services for routine reference requests.
+ Develop and maintain robust Internet sites and related digital resources.
+ Participate in identifying and instituting appropriate technologies and innovative services.
+ Assist in the development of programs to improve library services to staff, Baker School of Nursing, community.
+ Manage circulation functions, including circulation, reserves, shelving, statistical and financial recordkeeping, and staff training.
+ Provide information and instructional services, both in person and online
+ Instructs library users in the location of materials from the physical and/or electronic library.
+ Participates as liaison with Baker School of Nursing faculty to coordinate and monitor the Reserve Collection.
+ Prepares and delivers library-related lectures and/or hands on individual/group learning sessions for Baker University School of Nursing faculty and students upon request
+ Assesses information needs to select resources (electronic, print and software tools) to support organizational strategies and programs
+ Compiles and distributes library statistics to include circulation, photocopies, Interlibrary Loans, searching and/or service percentages.
+ Coordinated library donations and gift recognition process and procedures.
+ Prepares and delivers library-related lectures and/or hands on learning sessions for groups and individuals
+ Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality information.
+ Participates in annual operating and capital equipment budget. Researches alternative avenues for additional financial support
+ Oversees ordering, billing, receipt and payment of all library transactions
+ Work closely with Magnet teams to ensure library services align with Magnet standards, sources of evidence, projects, councils
+ Supports and serves as the resource for patient education materials for the health system
+ Works in conjunction with other library staff to maintain an efficient, safe and clean environment.
+ Supervision of the library assistant.

Required qualifications include a Master’s degree from an American Library Association accredited library school. Experience in e-resource management and technology is desired. Experience in hospital or health sciences library is preferred.
