Job Description

Days – Full-Time
The Neurology department of the University of Kansas Hospital is recruiting for a Neuropsychologist to join our growing group.
The primary responsibilities of the position would involve clinical work with adult neurological/neurosurgical patients, but there is also potential for supervision of trainees and opportunities for research.
We have established a neuropsychology presence in several interdisciplinary clinics (traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, memory disorders, primary care) in recent years and participation in brief assessment/consultation in these or other similar clinics is a growing part of our practice.
Early to mid-career neuropsychologists are encouraged to apply. Board certification through ABPP/CN or eligibility for board certification, with the expectation of completing the certification process within a reasonable period from the time of hire, is expected.
The University of Kansas Health System/Medical Center offers an academic medical center setting with many opportunities for multidisciplinary collaboration. Neuropsychology is housed in the neurology department. Neuroscience services have grown rapidly in our system over the past several years and there is high demand for neuropsychology services from within and outside our system.
The Kansas City area is a pleasant, medium-sized metropolitan area that offers many advantages of a major city including arts, music, professional and collegiate sports, and a wide variety of dining (beyond world-renowned barbecue). The area also features a reasonable cost of living, several excellent school districts, affordable housing, and relatively easy commuting. Kansas City has four distinct seasons, with fairly mild winters and access to many outdoor activities.
High school diploma or equivalent
-Technical / Professional Training// Degree in Clinical psychology/neuropsychology from an APA-accredited doctoral program
-Internship in Clinical Psychology from APA-accredited program
-Education and training sufficient to qualify for application for ABPP-ABCN certification

2 years of supervision in the practice of neuropsychology which may consist of one year of postdoctoral training or two years of postdoctoral training
-Licensed as a doctoral level Psychologist with the State of Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board, or license-eligible at time of employment and subsequent licensing within 6 months of employment
Ability to read, write and speak English
-Experience with epilepsy, movement disorders and other neurological and neurosurgical conditions
-Experience in intra
and extra-operative cortical mapping and sodium amobarbital testing
-Experience with both children and adults
