Junction City

Emporia

 

Reports To: Supervisor

Classification:  Non-Exempt

 

MISSION STATEMENT

Saint Francis, providing healing and hope to children and families

 

BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The driver safely transports children and families to various appointments from varied locations statewide

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education and Licensure/Certification

?       First Aid/CPR

Minimum Job Requirements

?       Must be 21 years of age

?       Must pass a drug screen, KBI and Child Abuse and Neglect Registry Clearance

?       Lifting requirement of 50 lbs.

?       Must have valid Kansas drivers license, acceptable driving record and reliable transportation

Client Population Served

?       Demonstrates competence and continues training in age-specific competencies for infant through adult clients

Minimum Work Experience

?       Prefer two years experience working with children and families

Required Skills,

Knowledge, and Abilities

 

?       Mandated reporter

?       Receives training in trauma informed practice and incorporates knowledge in day to day

        practice

?       Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills

?       Must be a team player

?       Familiar with atlas and map usage

?       Ability to travel throughout the State

?       Ability to work flexible schedule

?       Independent discretion/decision making within the scope and responsibility of the position.

?       Able to make decisions under pressure

?       Manages stress appropriately

?       Works alone effectively

?       Understand and practices Universal Precautions

Essential Functions

?       Maintains open line of communication with transportation and office staff, including social worker or family support worker

?       Verifies necessary transportation and move forms are complete

?       Assures that children have all necessary belongings and medications at time of transport

?       Must follow and adhere to state driving laws and regulations

?       Transports children/families safely from one destination to another location

?       Able to work varied days and hours

?       Implements SFCS policies and follows directives as required. Follows and adheres to all pertinent SFCS Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), rules, personnel policies and procedures; related accreditation and licensure standards; and federal, state and local rules, statutes, regulations, and contractual terms

?       Is knowledgeable of and follows all safety procedures

?       Reports unusual incidents through appropriate Risk Management, clinical and safety channels

?       Ensures clients’ rights are protected

Non-Essential Functions

?       Prefer to have a minimum of 40 hours in-service education per year

?       Other duties as assigned
