Job Description

As the Skilled Maintenance Technician (2nd Shift), you will maintain and repair all equipment and machine tools in a manufacturing plant. You will also install new equipment and perform preventative maintenance tasks using established maintenance practices.

Responsibilities include:
•Perform a variety mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC troubleshooting and repair of production machines and equipment.
•Perform a variety skills including, but not limited to, electrical troubleshooting 120v-480v AC circuits, DC circuits, VFDs, PLCs, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical repair of production machines and equipment
•Diagnose machine, equipment problems and failures, make necessary repairs to keep production running efficiently. Follow work instructions and perform preventative tasking.
•Responsible for helping to maintain good housekeeping practices in accordance with company requirements.
•Perform other duties and carry out instructions and assignments given by lead person or department management
•Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Required Qualifications

The qualified candidate will have experience with the following:

•High School Diploma or GED

•Minimum of 2+ years of experience as maintenance technician, mechanic for manufacturing operation, with knowledge in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and machine repair

•Experience, abilities, and skills required: lock-out/tag-out training, confined space training, Hazmat communications, hazardous waste & accountability training, forklift operation, respirator training, personal protective equipment training, and safety topic training

•Must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle

•Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, in addition to good verbal communication skills.
•Basic knowledge and understanding of computers and software

The preferred candidate will have experience with the following:

•Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
•Strong mechanical skills
•Ability to use schematics and drawings to meet job requirements
•Experience working in an industrial environment
•Must be able to effectively prioritize work tasks and requirements
•Demonstrated strong leadership and communications skills
•Strong attention to detail and urgency to follow-up on critical issues
