About This Role:
K-State Athletics is seeking qualified applicants for a Athletics Communication Post Graduate Intern, which is a temporary, full-time, benefits-eligible position for up to 24 months.
An example of job responsibilities includes but is not limited to the following:
Daily program management for the assigned sports, which includes creating press releases, feature stories, maintaining statistical records, including but not limited to media guides, game programs and post-season brochures, promote the assigned sports programs.
Maintain (please use the apply button below) website for assigned sports, which includes but is not limited to writing and posting stories/articles, updating game stats and posting schedule results.
Serve as a secondary contact for men’s basketball as well as duties with football, women’s basketball and other wildcat sports teams.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:
Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, communications or related field by hire date (est 06/01/2019)
Outstanding communications skills and strong writing ability
Experience with desktop publishing software such as QuarkXPress/Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
Must be able to work in a team environment and individually
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations pertaining to publicity and promotional efforts
Two years experience working in an intercollegiate athletics communication office
Working knowledge of Genius Sports/Stat Crew statistical software
Knowledge of Big 12 rules and regulations pertaining to publicity and promotional efforts
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required
This position holds expectations of compliance with all NCAA, Big 12 Conference, Kansas State University and K-State Athletics, Inc. rules and regulations.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate:
$10 per hour (approximately $20,800 yearly estimate plus paid overtime) in the first year; potential to earn $12.50 (approximately $26,000 yearly estimate plus paid overtime) after completion of first year with a successful review. Paid biweekly (26 pay periods).
