This position is responsible for civil site development design for national clients in manufacturing, aerospace, and industrial facility and infrastructure markets\.

Areas of responsibility include:

>Development and evaluation of plans, specifications, reports, studies, cost estimates, design and construction schedules, subcontractor bids, and proposals for civil site design project scopes including site layouts, transportation and parking, wastewater, stormwater, site utilities, site grading and pavement systems\. >Coordination with other discipline engineers, project managers, architects, construction managers, clients, AHJs, permitting agencies and outside consultants as part of interdisciplinary design and construction teams in both design\-bid\-build and EPC project deliveries\. >Procurement of boundary and topo surveys, geotechnical investigations and environmental site assessments\. >Provide construction support responding to requests for information, reviewing shop drawings and adjusting design to field conditions\. >Lead civil design teams on larger projects\. >Must have strong understanding of design and construction cost impacts relating to project requirements\. >Demonstrate creativity, foresight and judgment in anticipating and solving problems\. >Provide leadership, guidance and instruction to other staff members\. >Demonstrate ownership and dedication to the success of Burns & McDonnell and our clients\. >Interface with clients and represent Burns & McDonnell in technical and marketing roles\. >Support proposal development by estimating engineering man hours, construction costs, project schedules and developing proposal win strategies\. >May develop standards and guidelines to further develop and unify on a national practice scope for the market\. >May be responsible for managing staffing workload, resources and commitments for other civil staff\. >May be responsible for mentoring and monitoring performance and development of other civil staff\.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field from accredited program\. Minimum 7 years related experience in site development design\. Completion of master’s degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience\. Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management and clients\. This position requires an experienced and competent individual capable of successfully solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria\.
