Job Description

Have you ever wished you had a better understanding of health insurance? This is a great way to learn the industry and assist others who are unsure of how to get the best benefit from their plan. While we are providing excellent customer service to our members and documenting our calls, this isn’t typical call center environment. Call volumes vary, so we ask this team to help with a range of projects that support our overall medical claims processing function. This provides an nice split between administrative work and customer service, although customer service is always the highest priority.

This is an office based position in downtown Wichita with regular business hours. No evenings or holidays! Due the amount of resources we invest in training, we are looking for stable employees who want long term employment.

This position will require pre-employment skills assessments be completed at the Workforce Center.

Essential Functions:
•Provide excellent customer service through answering incoming calls, providing accurate information, complying with established telephone procedures
•Log interactions in an electronic database
•Develop and maintain an excellent working knowledge of policies in order to determine eligible benefits and provide accurate benefit information
•Provide excellent communication with members, employers and providers and demonstrate a high degree of professionalism both verbally and written
•Provide administrative and clerical support for other areas including Claims and Appeals
•Abide by HIPAA regulations and other privacy policies at all times
•Maintain an exemplary attendance and tardiness record following established company guidelines
•Demonstrate ability to work well with other departments and all Medova staff members
•Respond in a timely and professional manner to written and oral inquiries
•Complete other tasks, as assigned

Required Education and Experience:
•High School Diploma or equivalent
•3-5 years of work experience

Preferred Education and Experience:
•1 year health insurance/payor experience
•1 year provider billing experience

Computer Skills:
•Microsoft Outlook
•Microsoft Word
•Data Entry
•Microsoft Excel (preferred)

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
•Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm; Friday 8am-4pm

Work Environment:
•Professional office environment
•Standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copier/scanner/fax
•Tobacco free
