Engineer $91, 100 – $113,900


Engineer $96,500 – $120,700

Scheduled Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The Generation Engineering Services department provides engineering support for the company’s fleet of electrical generation facilities. Within this department, the Civil Engineering group is focused on projects that establish and maintain compliance with environmental regulations as well as civil infrastructure.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Manages scoping, procurement, detailed design, and construction of civil related projects
  • Reviews specifications, drawings, and other contract documents for compliance with internal standards and external compliance requirements
  • Performs other related activities as assigned


Education and Experience Requirements:

Candidate will have a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (Master of Science preferred) and 6 years of experience designing and managing civil engineering related projects. Experience with the design and construction of landfills, dams, storm water (NPDES) management, railroads, and roads is preferred. Experience working on projects ranging from $2million to $10million.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required:

Must be dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented and have excellent organizational and proofreading skills. Must possess the ability to work and communicate effectively with other company personnel. Experience working with EPA regulations. Must be able to handle multiple priorities and operate efficiently and effectively.

Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:

Professional Engineer licensed to practice in Kansas or the ability to obtain within 6 months.

Working Conditions:

Normal office working conditions for most days but must be able to navigate difficult terrain for dam, landfill, and other inspections as necessary. Ability to meet strict deadlines. Occasionally, some additional hours or weekends may be required. Must have excellent work record including good attendance.
