Job Summary:

Interns will work as a part of our Facilities / Maintenance Engineering team whose responsibility is to coordinate design and construction of facilities, installation of new equipment, renovation and repair of facilities, and various other projects of an architectural, civil, mechanical, and electrical nature\. Candidates will play a crucial part in solving complex engineering problems involving Textron Aviation facilities, maintenance, processes, systems, and equipment\.Interns will be involved with a variety of projects that will provide exposure to many of Textron Aviation’s Wichita facilities\.

Job Responsibilities \(may include, but not limited to\):

  • Coordinate contractors and consulting engineers to manage facilities design, construction, renovation, & repair
  • Develop cost estimates, project schedules, and provide progress status
  • Conduct design evaluations, economic evaluations, and prepare technical reports
  • Assist with implementation of capital projects per approved budgets
  • Assist with annual and long range strategic planning
  • Support energy conservation projects
  • Support manufacturing equipment installations
  • Utilize AutoCad and other software to update facility drawings & record changes to facilities

+ Utilize Textron Aviation Asset Management system; including preventative maintenance development/updating and KeyPerformance Indicator \(KPI\) reporting/monitoring

+ Conduct equipment and economic evaluations, develop cost estimates and schedules, and provide progress status

+ Assist with implementation of capital projects per approved budgets

+ Routine contact and oversight of vendors, contractors and consultants

+ Assist with root cause analysis and provide solutions to technical problems

+ Support Energy conservation projects

+ Assist with annual and long range strategic planning to address equipment replacement, reliability and maintainabilityprocess improvements and automation

+ Comply with Safety culture and practices; including support of mandatory inspections to meet federal, state and localregulatory requirements



  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in:
>+ Architectural Engineering

+ Construction Science

+ Architecture

+ Civil Engineering

+ Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering

+ Reliability and Maintainability Engineering

+ Manufacturing Engineering

+ Mechatronics

  • Other related fields

Position Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational, time, priority setting, and project management skills
  • Sharp eye for detail
  • Great analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD preferred
