Job Summary: Compiles and maintains accurate accounts payable records. Processes timely payments to vendors; documents payments to vendors; and maintains outstanding check listing.


1. Verifies and approves all vouchers for payment.
2. Prepares and prints accounts payable checks.
3. Prints all accounts payable reports and maintains all accounts payable files.
4. Prepares analysis of accounts, as required.
5. Prepares invoice deduction notices, as necessary.
6. Audits freight bills against freight manifests.
7. Answers vendor inquiries.
8. Analyzes vendor accounts and negotiates extended terms with vendors as instructed.
9. Assists in monthly closings.
10. Assists with accounts receivable and special projects, as necessary.
11. Assists with cash flow forecasts as needed.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function and assigned duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, competency, and/or abilities required. 1. Minimum of associates degree in accounting or equivalent from two-year accredited college, or technical school, or one year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Previous bookkeeping experience preferred.
3. Proven knowledge of basic accounting principles.
4. Ability to apply basic math, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
5. Ability to communicate verbally in one-on-one situations with management and co-workers; listen to others without interrupting and get clarification when needed.
6. Strong attention to detail and focus on quality and accuracy.
7. Exhibits dependability, including following instructions; responding to supervisor’s direction; and taking responsibility for own actions.
8. Ability to take initiative, including asking for and offering help when needed; performs work independently without being prompted
9. Ability to prioritize and plan work activities; use time efficiently; and work within deadlines.
