Job Description

Role Summary/Purpose

Commissioning Lead is the technical expert for all start-up testing and commissioning activities on power and co-generation projects in the Wind segment. Responsible for all start-up testing and commissioning activities. Provides a key interface between customer, GE and constructor on all start-up related issues. Manages start-up personnel staffing, EHS requirements for safe to ensure the start-up is performed in professional, efficient and safe manner.

Essential Functions

+ Serve as the FieldCore main point of contact at site.

+ Escalate site-related concerns, as required.

+ Assist with coaching, training, development, and communication to Fieldcore employees in partnership with Resource Management

+ Develop all start-up schedules and resource planning.

+ Ensure compliance with and administer contract in performance of start-up activities.

+ Ensures compliance with Start-up Policies and Procedures.

+ Conduct start-up meetings and interface with Customer, GE and Constructor.

+ Review P&ID’s and engineering documents.

+ Maintain System Turnover Packages and transmit to Customer upon system acceptance.

+ Maintain Start-up Daily Log and all office correspondence.

+ Ensure compliance with all site safety regulations.

+ Ensure compliance with all site environmental and construction permits, (as applicable).

+ Utilize customers O&M staff in support of start-up testing activities.

+ Review start-up and commissioning instructions and test procedures

+ Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements

+ Degree in an Electrical, Mechanical or other related technical discipline OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a field service role installing and commissioning power generation equipment

+ Possess advanced skills and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of a particular field of specialization

+ Proven leadership skills and project controls experience to effectively manage a site through a successful commissioning evolution is required.

+ Must posses a valid driving license

Desired Characteristics

+ Expert level. Able to act as a senior company rep on any outage for the unit qualified. Acts as project manager and mentor on complex projects

+ Experience with modeling and analysis programs for wind turbines.

+ Proficient in the use of computers and PC software.

+ Excellent customer, communication, and interpersonal skills

+ Ability to travel extensively in support of global assignments.

+ Fluent in English language.
