Health & Human Services Department
Join the Department of Health and Human Services today! As a Registered Nurse, you will conduct assessments, documentation, individual interventions, assist medical staff, transcribe orders, maintain clinical records, monitor medication and treatment administration, and provide in-service to staff as required. Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary team and advocate for persons served. Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of each job. May be required to work weekends with the possibility of alternating shifts depending on department needs. May also be required to work some holidays. #TEAMDHHS
Will consider candidates eligible for license within 3 months of application. Candidates must obtain license before start date.
Full-Time: $22.556-$28.195 per hour with benefits, additional pay based on experience. Guaranteed 40 hours per week for full-time employees, generous shift differentials up to $1.50 per hour, flexible schedules and overtime available. Excellent benefits and retirement contribution match of 156%.
TEMPORARY – ON CALL RATE $26.477/hour with Flexible Scheduling and Shift Differential
Examples of Work
Provides direct and indirect nursing care ie: medication administration, enteral feedings, specialist treatments. Will receive administrative supervision. Will work with LPN staff. Responds to emergency situations.
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Nebraska or authority based on the Nurse Licensure Compact to practice as a registered nurse in Nebraska.
PREFERRED: Developmental Disability/dually diagnosed individual experience. Computer literacy to include use of Electronic health record and E-MAR experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of: nursing theory and practice; accepted standards of care; policies and procedures governing nursing care; sanitation and infection control standards, policies, and procedures; techniques of providing quality nursing care; standards for charting medical records; current medications, their uses and reactions; Nebraska regulations pertaining to nursing scope of practice. Skill in: coordinating and providing nursing care. Ability to: observe changes in the medical condition of patients and effectively communicate these changes to other nursing staff members and physicians; consult with clinical specialists; instruct others in patient care; maintain accurate medical records and write periodic reports; communicate effectively with medical professionals, direct care staff members, and other facility staff members; follow oral and written instructions in exact detail, maintain a helpful and empathetic attitude toward patients; participate on an interdisciplinary team; utilize sound and effective professional nursing judgment
