Job Summary:

Manufacturing Engineer in an assembly operation to develop,improve, and implement processes and programs that to support the continuingimprovement of quality and operational efficiencies while reducing theoverall cost structure\.


·Suggests, evaluates, implements & managesmultiple manufacturing projects from beginning to end\.

·Implements product changes and processchanges on the production floor related to risk elimination, cost improvementprojects, production demand, workstation design, material presentation, etc\.

·Owns process flow diagram and PFMEA forassigned areas\. Uses these tools to reduce process variation and risk\.

·Works as part of the Change Management Teamin the introduction of new products and processes\.

·Implements cost effective manufacturing bytaking marketing wants, along with design engineering requirements, andoverlaying this on existing capacities and capabilities to arrive at a costeffective workable process\.

·Applies knowledge of engineering principlesand practices on safety and ergonomic improvements\.

·Understanding and knowledge of manufacturingprocesses, including fabrication, assembly, and testing\.

·Reviews product BOM’s and updates accordingly\.

·Performs line balances, capacity analysis,time studies, labor costing\.

·Evaluates production capacities\.

·Implements capital equipment includingevaluation, selection, run\-offs, and implementation\.

·Reviews plant layouts and updates drawingsaccordingly\.

·Documents what is normal state and then beable to identify actions to correct abnormal conditions\.

·General duties to work with the operationsteam driving root cause and corrective actions for issues pertaining to safety,quality, and customer delivery driving the implementation – Manufacturing andIndustrial Engineering fundamentals\.

·Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing\(Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work, Poke\-Yoke, Value Stream Mapping, etc\.\)


·Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Industrialor Mechanical Engineering preferred\.

·3 years related experience in amanufacturing environment\.

·Exposure to new product &process development activities identified by AIAG APQP procedures andtechniques\.

·Ability to approach a problem or situationthat has not been previously encountered, gather information, make assessments,devise a number of options, recommend and implement the best option to dealwith the issue\.

·Strong analytical ability to solve issuessuch as: manufacturing problems and dimensional or calculation errors\.

·Ability to prioritize/re\-prioritize tasks,and carry out root cause analysis\.

·Solid understanding of plant assemblyprocesses and overall business operations\.

·Excellent communication and people skills\.

·Ability to communicate at all levels withDivision, IR, suppliers \(assure suppliers component meets application\),customers \(site visits, meets to establish design specifications withMarketing\), outside agencies, etc\.

·Knowledge of LeanManufacturing techniques and ability to create standard work\.
