Senior IT Business Analyst – Cloud
As a Senior IT Business Analyst, you’ll be responsible for working with H&R Block’s Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure and Application delivery teams to define and document system requirements for cloud computing infrastructure and applications. You’ll also be responsible for enabling the planning and engineering of IaaS and PaaS implementations in Microsoft Azure. Other responsibilities include leading cloud migration process mapping, system requirements gathering and design sessions, and reviewing design documentation with engineering teams.
This position is located at our corporate headquarters, in the premier downtown Power & Light District of Kansas City, where everything is either steps or a streetcar ride away. What you’ll do…
+ Work with Cloud Architects and rest of Cloud team to define and design an appropriate cloud strategy and solution
+ Develop user stories and specifications for cloud virtual data center maturation lifecycle and IaaS/PaaS implementations
+ Lead activities during analysis, design, construction and testing phases of large scope projects
+ Facilitate in requirements and design sessions for large projects
+ Work with users, senior management, and technical team to produce project charters, scope documents and conceptual design charts
+ Work with vendor professional services, product and support teams.
+ Assist in the development of production implementation and validation plans.
+ Responsible for defining processes that enable production support of assigned systems and ensure efficiency and reliability in production
+ Use SME knowledge acquired to enable fix agents upon failure of systems, assist in defect resolution and participate in root cause analysis as necessary for any assigned systems.
What you’ll bring to the role…
+ Have working understanding and knowledge of cloud (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and systems development life cycle
+ Advanced knowledge of and ability to perform analyses such as, GAP analysis, process mapping, root-cause analysis, risk analysis and requirements gathering
+ Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Computer Science, Networking, Information Security or related CIS area or the equivalent through a combination of education and work experience
+ Five to seven years of experience as a Systems or Business Analyst and/or Project Manager and/or Infrastructure or Security Engineering role in an information technology environment
+ Knowledge of the Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies and ability to operate in a fast-paced technology environment
+ Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization
+ Demonstrated facilitation, decision making, analytical, and problem-solving skills
+ Effective time management and organization skills with the ability to successfully handle multiple large projects
+ Experience using software applications such as Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Visio
It would be even better if you also had…
+ Experience in defining, designing and implementing cloud solutions
+ Exposure and/or experience with Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS or Google Cloud
+ Knowledge and experience in network infrastructure and routing, information security and software application development
