Job Description

Performs administrative duties and provides support in functional areas of the human resources department.

The Human Resource Clerk is responsible for assisting in the daily functions of the Human Resource department. The role of the HR Clerk is integral to the Human Resources department as he/she is required to prepare various reports and maintain records of the tasks handled by the department and employee file maintenance. The position requires a high level of confidentiality.

Assists department in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for all company employees.
Assists in administration of compensation program; helps to monitor performance appraisal process.
Participates in recruitment effort for exempt and nonexempt personnel (excluding managerial levels and above); and helps to coordinate the use of temporary employees.
Conducts new employee orientations; administers pre-employment tests; conducts reference and background checks.
Assists in hiring and exit interview processes.
Assists in organizational training and development efforts.
Maintains Human Resource Employee Personnel, Medical and Training records and compiles reports as needed.
Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
Helps to maintain company organization charts and employee directory.
Performs other related duties as required and assigned by the department manager.
Requirements & Skills
Requires prior knowledge of principles and practices of human resources.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Prior experience with an HRIS database preferred.
Requires effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 2-5 years experience as an HR Clerk or Admin Assitant
Valid Driver’s License without suspensions
Organizational skills
Stress management
Knowledge of general office procedures and skills
Ability to be an effective team member and handle task responsibly
Experience with recruitment and employment
Experience with personnel records, employee relations, job evaluation, compensation management, benefits administration, organization development and training
Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within Human Resources
Working Conditions
The Human Resources Generalist is in an office environment. This position will be expected to travel as needed to satellite offices. Periodic weekend or evening work is expected.
