Director Media and Analytics

Job Description:

The Director, Media and Analytics is responsible for defining media strategies and building the national media plan for the H&R Block. This role serves as the internal media expert. You’ll design and build media plans, measurement frameworks with a focus on learning and action and the goal of continuously improving performance across digital media, paid search, paid social and offline/traditional media while mentoring and developing a team of media buyers and channel analysts.

Media Strategy and Performance

+ Work with agency partners, marketing strategist, corporate analytics and product teams to ensure media plans that deliver to business objectives

+ Serve as a media subject matter expert for internal functions, both providing strategic direction and guidance at all stages of the media lifecycle

+ Craft KPIs and assessments for optimal media performance (in partnership with the Insights and Corporate Analytics teams ) and strategic optimizations (in conjunction with internal marketing and external agency teams)

+ Create media performance reports as needed for marketing and company leadership

+ Provide ongoing education within and outside of the core team on media opportunities, including industry trends and creative opportunities to reach and engage with customers

Media Planning:

+ Drive evolution to a fully integrated, data informed and collaborative approach to media planning and buying

+ Partner with agencies and stakeholders to build and ensure alignment to media planning timelines and budgets

+ Drive the current and future ad tech/ marketing tech technical road map. Including identification, recommendation and implementation of appropriate tools

+ Manage multiple agencies, technology vendors, publisher and network relationships

Media Analytics

+ Lead the development of campaign measurement frameworks for campaigns

+ Lead modeling and analytic efforts to provide insights into the effectiveness of both digital and traditional media efforts

+ Analyze performance of campaigns and marketing efforts and make recommendations for improvements

+ Collaborate with Corporate Analytics, Insights team to look for ways to improve HRB’s existing data and analytics infrastructure

Required Skills & Qualifications

+ At least 8 years of media planning & measurement experience

+ Solid analytical & research skills with proven ability to demonstrate data collecting, analyzing and interpretation

+ Proven track record of leading media attribution and media mix modeling programs

+ Working knowledge of online advertising planning, buying and performance metrics

+ Prior experience measuring the effectiveness of traditional advertising campaigns, such TV, radio and print media

+ Experience with media reporting platform(s) (Doubleclick, Adwords, Social Reporting Platforms, etc.)

+ Experience with web analytics platform(s) (Adobe, Google Analytics, etc.)

+ Experience effectively managing projects that support multiple clients and stakeholders

Preferred Skills & Experience

+ Extensive knowledge of advertising platforms and/or the advertising tech industry preferred

+ Deep understanding of digital tracking, including tagging, mobile and social limitations

+ Understanding of digital buying methods: CPV, CPC, CPM, CPCV, CPE, dCPM

+ Demonstrate problem-solving ability with emphasis on drawing inferences with data

+ Experience with DMP and CDP technology including audience segment set up
