Job Description

This position is located in Topeka, KS.
The College Access Advisor is responsible for the enrollment of eligible participants in each region. They establish and maintain a positive and professional relationship with all referral agencies. The College Access Advisor plans life skill and cultural activities, completes the College Access Plan(CAP)on each student in the region and sets up meetings with College Access Mentors or other partners to make sure services outlined on the CAP are provided.

Minimum Education
•Bachelor’s Degree or higher in education, counseling or related field.

Minimum Experience
•At least 2 years academic advising experience.
•Successful experience working with diverse populations.
•Demonstrated commitment to diversity.

Knowledge, skills and abilities
•Demonstrated ability to coordinate activities and projects for large numbers of staff, students, and parents.
•Demonstrated ability to communicate with and provide positive support to students, parents, and families.
•General knowledge of problems facing low-income and foster care students.
•Excellent communication skills.
•Excellent writing skills including reports and student file notes.
•Working knowledge of computers including word-processing, spreadsheets and databases.

Required Licenses, Certificates & Registrations
•Valid Driver’s license
