Job Description

The Elliott School of Communication seeks a full time assistant professor to teach in the journalism sequence and pursue an active research agenda. Qualified candidates will be expected to teach media writing and news reporting, as well as other courses related to mass communication at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Elliott School of Communication wants a collegial candidate with a strong background in journalism and an interest in teaching and guiding students who wish to pursue professional positions in the convergent news media and/or investigative/civic journalism fields.

Minimum Education
•MA/MS degree will be considered in combination with strong professional experience, although such an appointment will not be tenure eligible. Professional/creative and teaching credentials will be an important consideration for selection.

•Ability to teach news reporting and media writing, as well as other courses related to mass communication.
