Job Description

1. Accurately collects and maintains required demographic and insurance data, required signatures during the scheduling and registration process. 2. Responsible for scheduling all new referrals and patient follow-up visits. 3. Verifies insurance benefits and ensures required referrals and authorizations have been received for services scheduled. 4. Assists in obtaining authorization for scheduled surgeries. 5. Educates patient on estimated cost of service and collects balance due prior to services and/or initiates payment options per office guidelines. 6. Greets patients, answers the telephone, takes messages, relays message, and directs communication to appropriate person in the appropriate manner. 7. Responsible for contributing to customer relations by providing excellent customer service with immediate assistance to a prompt, easy and friendly registration process, contributing positively to patient satisfaction. 8. Schedule referrals/diagnostic work-ups with appropriate providers. 9. Responsible for contributing directly to the measurement of days in Accounts Receivable and percentage of Bad Debt. 10. Prepares clinic for following day to include, but not limited to, pulling charts, obtaining x-rays, labs and diagnostics for scheduled patients. 11. Assists in maintaining medical record and process records requests for medical records according to HIPPA guidelines. 12. Displays enthusiasm, an interest for work and a willingness to expand professional knowledge base. Responsible for retaining and performing any routine changes in patient account process, keeping abreast of any insurance updates or requirements. 13. Responsible for demonstrating knowledge of departmental responsibilities during emergent alarms, knowledge and whereabouts for departmental manuals. 14. Performs other duties as assigned.

II. JOB DESCRIPTION: PHYSICAL DEMANDS May require constant sitting. Requires occasional standing and walking. Occasionally lists and carries up to 30 lbs. May require pushing and pulling up to 30 lbs. Eye-hand coordination, and finger and manual dexterity are required. Requires correct hearing and vision to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions. Some exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials is required. Requires occasional bending, twisting, climbing, balancing, stooping and kneeling. Occasional reaching and overhead work are required. Requires occasional grasping. Requires the ability to distinguish letters or symbols. Ability to use office equipment such as computer terminal (PC), typewriter, telephone, copier, and fax machine.
II. JOB DESCRIPTION: WORKING CONDITIONS Primary Monday through Friday on a scheduled shift. Weekend work and overtime may be required.
